Toshihiko Seko of Japan (2:09:26) and Allison Roe of New Zealand (2:26:46) are the winners of the Boston Marathon.

Patti Catalano of the U.S. had been the leading woman runner in the race. But after she runs into the back end of a horse in Cleveland Circle, she is overtaken by Roe. Catalano does, however, set an American record for women in a marathon of 2:27:51.
